Christopher Edgar-Smith

Christopher Edgar-Smith LMSW is a Black, Queer, Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Metro Detroit. Christopher’s clinical work centers serious persistent mental illness and trauma centered treatment for LGBTQIA2+ folx of color. Christopher’s therapeutic foundations support the wellness of adolescent and adult gender expansive folx as well.
Christopher is a member of WPATH (and), as well as a Kink/Poly aware and affirming practitioner. Christopher completed an undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan-Flint, and attended the University of Minnesota, and Madonna University for his Master of Social Work with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health.
Christopher utilizes Psychodynamic, Brainspotting, Narrative Therapy, CBT, and EMDR interventions treating trauma and oppression fatigue with communities navigating life in the margins
